Welcome to The Foggy Pearl
A quiet, beautiful escape nestled on the edge of a small island in Downeast Maine. Set in a historic lobster sorting facility, The Foggy Pearl offers a deep sense of place, connection, and coastal charm—rooted in community and the rhythms of the sea. This unique property features a 2-bedroom artist retreat on its own island, an oyster farm, swimming access, two additional guest houses, a stunning bar, and a dance hall perched above the water.
Every corner is crafted with care, intention, and remarkable attention to detail. We are more than just a venue; we're transforming this space into something extraordinary: a place for creative retreats, intimate to large gatherings, and fostering a closer connection to the coast.

The Island House
Perched on the rocky edge above the Mt. Desert Narrows, this two-bedroom, two-bath house sits on a small island accessible only by bridge. From the home, you’ll see sweeping views of Mount Desert Island. A wooden boardwalk leads you through a peaceful coastal forest, tracing the shoreline’s quiet blue water before you arrive.
The Bar/Dancehall
The dance hall and bar at The Foggy Pearl were designed to blur the line between indoors and out. The granite in the fireplace was salvaged from the property, and all of the hardwood in the interior is the result of tornado damage to trees on our farm in southern Illinois. The space opens to the water with a large roll-up door, inviting in the sea air, light, and sounds of the coast. It’s a space meant to feel deeply connected to the surrounding landscape
The Pound House
A spacious blue house is available for additional guests. This preciously renovated house originally housed the lobster pound keeper and his family.
